Job Description For

Waste Water Maintenance Technician

Position is: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Direct report is to: Environmental Manager

Role: comply with O.S.H.A. regulations, Maintain and monitor waste water systems, analyses batches by obtaining samples for testing, compensate for fluctuations by adding chemicals per specifications or directions. Maintains related equipment. Moves chemical containers as required. Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Comply with O.S.H.A. and safety regulations, utilizes personal safety protection.
• Maintain and monitor waste water systems.
• Analyses batches by obtaining samples for testing.
• Keep all waste water logs in compliance according to city, state, and local regulatory laws/rules.
• Compensate for fluctuations by adding chemicals per specifications or directions.
• Maintains related waste water treatment equipment.
• Maintains chemical inventory by alerting supervisor when supply is required.
• Responds to related alarms through troubleshooting and making appropriate adjustments.
• Moves chemical containers as required.
• Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Ensure all waste water maintenance equipment is safe and well maintained.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Keep a safe, orderly and clean work area.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Authority:

• Able to release product to suppliers.
• Make decisions on repair work costs, fixing equipment, and parts/equipment being sent back to customer.
• Any other maintenance/waste water decisions that support impact of down time.

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to perform basic reading, writing, and math.
• Can analyze waste water samples and treat waste water batches.
• Can operate and maintain related waste water treatment equipment.
• Can maintain inventory of required waste water materials and supplies.
• Working or obtained a Class A to C Waste Operators License

Working Conditions/Environment:

• Work required in facility that handles/operates potentially dangerous chemicals and equipment. The employee will be exposed to work/handle, in some cases extreme temperatures and chemicals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Waste Water: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
• Class A (Required)
