Website Manager manages the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the organization's websites. Oversees changes in the site's technical architecture to ensure that the website remains responsive and stable. Being a Website Manager manages the maintenance and troubleshooting of related hardware and software and ensures that web administrators comply with established standards and specifications. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Additionally, Website Manager typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Website Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.     Southern Industrial is looking for a Maintenance Engineer for a maintenance site in West Jefferson, NC. This is a 40 hour per week position, no per diem offered.

    Provide the technical expertise on all matters of Maintenance excellence for all process equipment including mechanical, electrical and instrument / control equipment. Recommend needed improvements to Operations management in the area of equipment maintenance including strategies and best maintenance practices. Focus on sustaining or returning equipment to current performance standards. Train and mentor less experienced technicians in troubleshooting and repair of process equipment.

    • Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot and repair equipment problems.
    • Troubleshoot PLC hardware and software. Make program modifications when required and properly document changes according to GE Aerospace procedures.
    • Apply engineering theory, practices, and principles to lead equipment root cause failure analysis.
    • Work with maintenance supervision, planners and technicians to develop equipment repair procedures.
    • Provide technical input to the Maintenance scheduler and Operations management for determining the criticality of scheduling equipment down for needed maintenance.
    • Review maintenance metrics for Operations leaders, recommending needed improvements where warranted.
    • Support implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) by identifying and supporting autonomous maintenance done by operators, where appropriate.
    • Support capital projects by:
    1. Promoting consistency by standardizing equipment
    2. Providing technical expertise for installation, check-out, maintenance procedures and start-up of all new critical equipment.
    3. Assuring that necessary spare parts are identified and inventoried
    • Identify training needs for mechanics and others supporting the maintenance function.
    • Participate in equipment maintenance activities as defined by site manuals and practices, with specific focus on OEE.
    • Participate in maintenance and reliability networks and share best practices, successes and failures.
    • Participate in the interviewing, hiring and mentoring of new maintenance personnel.
    • Support equipment and maintenance personnel outside of normal working hours as needed.
    • Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
    • Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
    • Have thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of maintenance duties.
    • Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.
    • Perform other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

    Basic Skills:

    • BS degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical or Instrument depending on their work focus); alternatively, 8-10 years of maintenance work experience and training.
    • Strong leadership capability.
    • Ability to plan, prioritize and implement multiple concurrent projects.
    • Good communication and presentation skills (both oral and written).
    • Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to influence managers, peers, and mechanics; able to take a “hands-on” approach with operators and mechanics to get things done.
    • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a team environment.
    • Proven strong contributor with the capability to work independently.
    • Good personal computer and software skills in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel®.
    • Able to navigate and extract data from Maximo (or the specific CMMS used).
    • Understanding of Business Performance Measures and Critical to Quality issues
    • Understand Process Safety Management (PSM) process, specifically Management of Change (MOC)

    Functional Skill Set:

    Basic understanding of the principles of:

    • Maintenance Work Management Process including work identification, planning, scheduling, accomplishment, work documentation, maintenance materials management.
    • PPM, basic equipment reliability, contract maintenance and maintenance training.
    • Rotating equipment and alignment techniques.
    • Materials Science and physical failure analysis.
    • Instrumentation and process control.
    • Predictive techniques for fixed and rotating equipment and instrumentation such as: Vibration Analysis, Thermography, etc.
    • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
    • Uptime and how to extract data out of the system.
    • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and how to lead RCFA teams.
    • Industry and corporate Engineering codes and their application.
    • ISO and other related quality standards.
