We are looking for qualified welders at our full-service rail tank car repair shop in Muscatine, Iowa. Wages start at $25.00 per hour. WE CERTIFY INTERNALLY! Certified welders can make between $29.00 to $34.00 per hour! GREAT BENEFITS FROM DAY 1! 

Shift: Open to work any shift M-F 2 Sat/Month (1st: 6 am – 2:30 pm, 2nd: 2 – 10:30 pm, 3rd: 10 pm – 6:30 am)

Primary Job Functions

• Welds components related to tank cars including tanks, bolsters, underframes, side sills, etc.
• Performs welded repairs by utilizing air arc cutting torch and stick or wire welding equipment.
• Uses hand tools and equipment to chip and grind weld, slag or spatter.
• Repairs, straightens, removes, reworks car parts, brakes, underframes, center plates, gears, couplers, valves, etc. using various hand and power tools.
• Performs welding and mechanical repairs to tank and hopper cars when required.
• Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner and reports potential hazards.

Environmental and Working Conditions

• Will have to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Will perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
• Will be working around hot work and fumes common to welding and body repair.
• May work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 4 ft. off the ground with proper PPE and fall protection.
• Close mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time.
