The U.S. Army's program is designed to optimize human performance by leveraging evidence-based information to increase physical and non-physical performance, decrease injury occurrence, improve access to rehabilitation, and improve overall individual performance.

The Strength and Conditioning Coach (SCC) establishes effective strength and conditioning training programs within the Army's Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) contract. The types of injuries are similar to those commonly seen in athletics, including sprains, strains, tendonitis, and stress fractures.
