Women's Athletics Director directs all facets of a university/college's women's athletic program, including intramural and intercollegiate sports. Manages the entire women's coaching staff. Being a Women's Athletics Director schedules use of facilities, transportation, and sporting events. Also responsible for fundraising, publicity, ticket pricing and distribution, and purchase of new equipment. Additionally, Women's Athletics Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Women's Athletics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Associate Head Basketball Coach - (Women's)

  • Under the direction of the Head Basketball Coach, the Associate Head Basketball Coach is responsible for assisting with organizational duties and the development of training and practice schedules. Additional responsibilities include the coordination of the recruitment program and overseeing the Assistant Coach(s) in recruitment of qualified student-athletes within university and NCAA guidelines; teaching, evaluating and refining sport specific skill development for student-athletes; coordination of the Study Hall Program; and supervising team practices in the absence of the Head Coach.
    Required Qualifications:
    1. Baccalaureate degree required.
    2. Prior experience coaching men’s basketball at the collegiate or high school level and/or competitive personal playing experience. Highly competitive personal playing experience preferred.
    3. Minimum of 5 years experience as a basketball coach in a college or university, at the Division I level.
    4. Knowledge of NCAA Division 1 rules and regulations a plus.
    5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to oversee assistant coaches in the recruitment of qualified student-athletes.
    6. Must have a First Aid and CPR certification or obtain them during the 90 day Introductory Period. National Red Cross certification preferred.
    7. Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance with the university’s Motor Vehicle policy. A MVC check will be required at the time of hire and thereafter as deemed appropriate by the university. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the MVC check.
    8. Must be willing to travel and be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as required.
    9. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
