Work/Life Program Manager designs and implements wellness and work-life programs and policies to build a positive and appealing company culture that will enhance employee engagement, facilitate recruiting, and support productivity improvements. Partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings, and information resources. Being a Work/Life Program Manager develops and implements work-life programs to provide employees with flexible work arrangements, financial planning, family/child care resources, transportation, memberships, discounts, and educational opportunities. Collects and analyzes information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or feedback sessions. Additionally, Work/Life Program Manager may manage on-site fitness facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a senior management. The Work/Life Program Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Work/Life Program Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The STEM Program Manager is responsible for the overall development, promotion, and implementation of the after-school STEM program. The program focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math in order to mentor, teach, and encourage children grades 2 – 8 to improve their skills, confidence, and interest in the STEM fields.

    This position will train and prepare all staff and volunteers for each school year and summer. The STEM Program Manager will work closely with surrounding DOE and ILH schools surrounding our STEM classes. The STEM program manger will also be responsible for all reports pertaining to the STEM program for the agency and other potential funders.

    Creating curriculum is the key role of the STEM Manager. Preparing and maintaining a year-round calendar of events for the STEM program is another responsibility of the STEM Manager with the help from staff.

    ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    · Initiates and administers after-school program for low-income children grades 2 - 8.

    · Coordinates with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure that participants received wrap around support services.

    · Administers program and follow-ups on guidance and children’s performance and reporting established by the grantor or government agencies.

    · Prepares required program reports, accounting and auditing, for submittal by program deadlines to internal and external entities.

    · Prepares periodic reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) to assess program effectiveness and make recommendations for changes as needed.

    · Substitute teaches for Teachers when the Program Specialist/Teacher is not available.

    · Provides program support by purchasing and delivering snacks to the Exploration Centers monthly.

    · Supervises, trains, and evaluates staff performance. Must maintain records and appropriate files.

    · Provides staff support to program, planning, and evaluation by facilitating monthly STEM team meetings.

    · Provides coordination and oversight of volunteers and work training participants.

    · Takes the lead role in developing curriculum for the program.

    · Takes the lead role in organizing participation in the First Lego League Events Robotics tournaments.

    · Takes the lead role in fund development activities for the program.

    · Identifies and develops grant proposals to obtain funding for the program and various projects.

    · Conducts outreach and attends community events to promote the STEM program.

    · Provides staff support to the Planning, Program Development, and Communications Department by assisting with developing grant proposals as needed.

    · Creates and develops yearly calendar of events/field trips for the regular school year and summer.

    · Participate in school events to promote the STEM program.

    · Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION:

    A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Management, Social Sciences, Human Development, Social Work, Business, or a related field.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Two (2) years of full-time professional experience involving employment in Education, Organizational Management, Social Sciences, Human Development, Social Work, Business, or a related field, plus one (1) year of supervisory experience.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    · Must have a valid driver’s license and daily access to an automobile that is properly licensed and insured or have access to timely transportation for work.

    · Must have a current First Aid and CPR certificates or obtain one within 90 days of employment.

    · Must provide evidence of TB test at time of employment.

    · Must obtain fingerprint clearance and comply with State of Hawaii “Criminal History Record Clearance”.

    REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

    · Must be able to communicate orally and in writing and work effectively with people of diverse social, economic, and racial backgrounds.

    · Knowledge of the multi-ethnic cultures common to Oahu.

    · Knowledge of education methodology, as well as laws and regulations, as they relate to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math for elementary and middle-school students.

    · Ability to conduct presentations, orientations, and pre-employment preparation classes.

    · Ability to write clear, concise and effective reports, letters, memos and to maintain records.

    · Able to work flexible hours.

    · Ability to implement performance standards measures for the program.

    · Knowledge of general educational and counseling theories and techniques.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $43,830.00 - $60,000.00 per year
