Work/Life Program Manager designs and implements wellness and work-life programs and policies to build a positive and appealing company culture that will enhance employee engagement, facilitate recruiting, and support productivity improvements. Partners with insurers, healthcare providers, and vendors to introduce wellbeing awareness with on-site health events, classes, assessments/screenings, and information resources. Being a Work/Life Program Manager develops and implements work-life programs to provide employees with flexible work arrangements, financial planning, family/child care resources, transportation, memberships, discounts, and educational opportunities. Collects and analyzes information about employment trends and employee workplace needs by conducting surveys or feedback sessions. Additionally, Work/Life Program Manager may manage on-site fitness facilities. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a senior management. The Work/Life Program Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Work/Life Program Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Description

    YRCI, a leader in performance-based management consulting and professional services to public and private sector clients, continues to grow at a rapid pace.  Openings now exist across YRCI business units including the Human Capital and Acquisition Management support areas.

     Our customer with offices in Arlington, VA is seeking to fill a full-time Program Coordinator (WorkLife) to provide onsite support. The period of performance for this contract is through June 30, 2024. 

     The individual will perform the following duties:

    • Work with Human Resource (HR) Specialists in assessing performance needs, researching sources and materials, locating vendors, planning logistics, and selecting course materials.
    • Coordinate FDIC pre-retirement and mid-career seminars for employees by arranging logistics, monitoring the seminars to ensure they stay on schedule, and attending to administrative logistical matters that may arise during the seminar. 
    • Coordinate with Benefits Specialist to field questions from employees that cannot be answered by the vendor; provide responses to attendees or direct them to the appropriate Benefits Specialist.
    • Serve as a team member to organize and conduct the annual half-day Administrative Professionals’ Day; in collaboration with team members, develop agendas, identify presenters, prepare lunch menus, and design evaluation forms.
    • Provide operating and advisory services regarding Telework, Alternative Work Schedules (AWS), information and referral services, and other WorkLife programs. 
    • Provide intermediate-level guidance, consultation, and assistance to management regarding solutions to, and resources for, addressing WorkLife related concerns. 
    • Provide general advice and guidance regarding specific issues relating to the effective and efficient use of WorkLife Program and services (this can include but is not limited to work arrangements issues, employee resources, dependent care resources, and special benefits).
    • Prepare reports and staff papers associated with relevant WorkLife and Career Management Programs including providing support to Divisions and Offices during staff briefings, management presentations, employee orientations, and management training; may include oral presentations.
    • Contribute to the development of new or improved policies, procedures, and guidelines in the WorkLife and Career Management programs; recommend, assist with the development of, and draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
    • Prepare posters, brochures, and flyers to market activities and programs for the Career Management and WorkLife programs; identify appropriate graphics and designs for Agency-wide distribution; work with DOA Printing and Graphics Department.
    • Support the transition support services team; serves as the SharePoint site administrator.
    • Perform some basic HR duties, and support Sr. Specialists in one or more areas depending on need of the local organization including Worklife, benefits administration, and career management. 
    • Work with HR Specialists in developing and participating in conferences, forums, and meetings with Corporation staff, professional groups, and the public.
    • Prepare information packages and assist with conferences and events, as needed.
    • Provide other support to HR Specialists as needed.

     

    Job Requirements

    Requirements: 

    • Minimum 2 years college; college degree desirable but not required
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience directly related to HR Development and WorkLife program administration. 
    • Demonstrates ability to assess customers’ educational needs, using judgment and tact.
    • Knowledge of HR management theories, principles, practices, and techniques relating to human performance, family and interpersonal techniques, statistical design, and program evaluation. 
    • Knowledge of WorkLife programs including: alternative work schedules, teleworking, part time employment, job sharing, dependent care services, clinical and EAP services and support, or other programs or services.
    • Knowledge of the laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to FederalHR management, especially those related to the WorkLife (Family-Friendly) and employee development training programs. 
    • Knowledge of WorkLife program management, planning and implementation, as well as available training resources, equipment, vendors, etc. for purposes of developing or administering employee development and WorkLife programs.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in meeting and dealing with executives, supervisors, managers, employees, private sector representatives, and others.
    • Must possess strong oral skills, i.e. public speaking skills and written communication skills, as well as superior customer service skills to assist in providing guidance, preparing briefings, and interacting with internal and external customers.  
    • Must have the ability to maintain the confidentiality of personnel-related data.
