Workers Compensation Administrator II administers the workers' compensation program for an organization. Implements a consistent process for recording, investigating, and reporting workers' compensation claims complying with laws and regulations. Being a Workers Compensation Administrator II prepares and submits required reporting and documentation to OSHA, state and local agencies, and other entities. Monitors all claims and liaises with the employees, managers, insurance representatives, union representatives, medical staff, and attorneys involved with a case. Additionally, Workers Compensation Administrator II communicates case status details and necessary information to involved parties, including notifications of hearings, outcomes, return to work, or restrictions. Performs periodic reviews of overall cases to identify trends. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all regulations and laws for reporting workers' compensation. May coordinate or assist with safety programs focused on injury prevention or facilitate accommodations for workers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Key Job Results & Essential Functions New/Renewal Business Develop a complete understanding and technical expertise of the New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) and Safety Groups. Responsible for preparing exceptional marketing submissions to carriers, including application preparation, loss analysis and including other pertinent information for professional, quality new and renewal submissions. Submit marketing to eligible and appropriate carriers and follow-up to ensure timely receipt of quotes and policies. Analyze and compare carrier quotes for proper coverages, terms and conditions. Make insurance program recommendations. Ensure clients are appropriately written in a NYSIF Safety group; the NYSIF General Group 90; or a traditional carrier. Respond to underwriters questions in a timely and professional manner. Quote and process new business and rollovers for all groups as requested Understand and provide “Pay as you Go” opportunity to new business and at renewal. Take appropriate opportunities to suggest rounding out accounts. Work with clients to resolve any compliance issues. Document/Data Management Prepare and distribute all client policy documents per policies and procedures Enter all account information in real time and accurately in the agency management system. Update all submission, new/lost business reports within 24 hours of binding. Ensure all emails and account documents are accurate and attached to the account in the agency management system. Verify client information on a regular basis and update agency management system. Prepare information for Producer meetings according to checklists and schedules. Viewed as Trusted Partner by Clients Complete Welcome calls/packets to new clients Develop and maintain strong, long-term working relationships with clients in order to ensure their servicing expectations and/or needs are being met. Effectively works with Producer, Injury Management team and carrier. Understands fee based billing and Is able to answer client billing questions Understands the audit process and can accurately anticipate and answer client inquiries. Communicate with clients on a regular basis and respond to specific inquiries. Participate regularly in continuing education classes for licensing and to ensure updated knowledge. Qualifications: Education and Experience: College degree (related Insurance experience considered in lieu of) 2 years of experience in insurance brokerage, carrier, or related business preferred Current P&C license preferred Strong knowledge of NYS Workers Compensation and NYS Disability Skills: Must be personable and highly motivated to grow personal success A consultative, positive and resourceful approach to dealing with prospect, clients and associates Excellent listening skills with strong customer focus Excellent time management skills Computer Skills: Advanced PC skills including: Outlook, Word, Excel.
