Workers' Compensation Claims Manager manages accountabilities in the administration of first and third party worker's compensation claims. Manages domestic and/or international claim management strategies critical to the organization's success. Being a Workers' Compensation Claims Manager is responsible for reporting, investigation, and analysis; litigation management; resolution/outcome management; and the delivery of claim information. Manages litigated and moderately complex claims and is entrusted with significant settlement authority. Additionally, Workers' Compensation Claims Manager creates and develops relationships with claims adjusters, insurers, outside legal counsel, and other claims related parties. Directs workers' compensation claims policies and procedures within the claim information analysis. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Workers' Compensation Claims Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Workers' Compensation Claims Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Litigation Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster will effectively manage an inventory of litigated claims, pursuant to State of Florida statutory regulations as well as Claims Best Practices standards. The Litigation Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and monitoring the claims and will work with a defense counsel on claims in litigation to reach favorable outcomes. The Litigation Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster must have a strong background in the litigation process and familiarity with Florida Statute.

    Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to;

    • Handling Workers' Compensation claim files.
    • Determining whether the worker was injured on the job and whether the claim is compensable.
    • Coordinating care for the injured worker by approving and authorizing treatment, surgery, medications and appointments.
    • Authorizing bill payments on the claim file, which include wages to the injured worker for time he/she is unable to work, issuing any necessary payments to doctors, pharmacies and any other payments that may occur within the scope of the claim.
    • Sending out the legal notices that are required by the State of Florida to inform the injured worker of their rights and any benefits that he/she may or may not be entitled to.
    • Working with each employer and each injured employee to get the injured worker well and back to work, even if it's in a light duty or modified position.

    Ideal candidate should possess the following;

    • Minimum 5 years of experience handling litigated workers compensation claims in the state of Florida.
    • Must have an active Florida All Lines Claims Adjuster license.
    • Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
    • Initiative and ability to think logically, analytically, and critically.
    • Proficient with computers, web-based applications, and Microsoft Office.
    • Possess technical problem-solving skills.
    • Strong time management and organization skills.
    • Strong and experienced negotiation skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to work within a team environment.
    • Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with other adjusters as needed to mitigate exposures to the organization.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
