    Position Summary:

    Under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer, Automation faculty will be responsible for overseeing the daily classroom, laboratory, and internship instruction, maintain office hours, academic advising, instructional development, program development activities, program review, assessment of student learning, and service to campus and community. This position will also be responsible for the management of assigned classes and will maintain professionalism within the specialized field, including currency and any required certifications.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Provide development, organization, management, and supervision of the Automation program.

    Provide direction and leadership to establish goals (short and long term) and anticipate future needs for the Automation program that comply with the mission and vision of the Ozark Campus.

    Provide direction and oversight to ensure compliance with program review/accreditation and regulation requirements.

    Lead in the implementation and analysis of recommendations from the Industry/Advisory Committee.

    Promote and facilitate cooperative involvement from other campus faculty in curriculum improvement.

    Perform regularly scheduled review of program outcomes, program goals, and graduate competencies.

    Assist in and facilitate Automation program student recruitment.

    Recruit Industry partners and foster professional collaboration.

    Provide input in the preparation of program budget and manage program budget in a fiscally responsible manner.

    Coordinate training and instruction to achieve student learning objectives.

    Perform other duties as assigned, including attending campus functions, serving on committees and attending community events.


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Maintain high level of professionalism in presentation of self, behaviors, communications, and interactions with those around them.

    Maintain professional credentials as required by Chief Academic Officer.

    Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.

    Provide quality instruction, which is current, evidence-based, incorporates active problem-based learning modalities, and responsive to employer needs.

    Maintain currency of knowledge and skill in the field of Automation and areas of instruction.

    Promote and maintain a positive learning environment that is conducive to student learning.

    Maintain discipline, decorum and professionalism in the classroom.

    Maintain appropriate record keeping for assigned classes, to include progress and grade reports, attendance records, counseling reports, and clinical experience records.

    Schedule and ensure the required number of office hours per week, convenient to students.

    Available to assist students outside of scheduled classroom time.


    Minimum Requirements:

    Associates degree in Automation or Industrial Controls or Electronics or other related field plus 3 or more years technician experience in industry.

    Technical Certificate/ Industry credential in Automation or Industrial Controls or Electronics or other related field may substitute with 4 or more years occupational experience.

    Candidate must be willing to complete an Associate’s degree


    Preferred Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Automation field or electrical or mechanical engineering or related field with 3 or more years of occupational experience as a technician in industry.


    Work Location, Environment and Physical Demands:

    Primary location is the Ozark Campus, may require some travel to support off campus activities.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; use hands to finger/touch, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.

    The employee must be able to move around and about their area, and operate a computer as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
