Wound Care Services Director directs the programs and staff of the wound care services department. Develops and implements wound care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Being a Wound Care Services Director monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Responsible for the education of clinical staff. Additionally, Wound Care Services Director requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires license to practice medicine. The Wound Care Services Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Wound Care Services Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. The Wound Care Nurse makes a difference by -The Wound Care Nurse works in harmony with the nursing staff assessing, treating, and creating care plans for patients with complex wounds, ostomies, and/or continence conditions. If you are a Wound Care Nurse with a true passion for patient care and compassion for others and a commitment to teamwork, apply today!- Provide consultation and direct assistance in the management of patients with altered skin integrity (pressure necrosis, wounds, fistulas, etc).
- Offer in-service programs as needed to assist nursing, rehabilitation and medical staff to maintain knowledge and competence in wound care.
- Collect, analyze and document information and statistics related to wounds in the facility, as well as perform clinical evaluations for potential wound admissions.
You could be a great fit if you have these things:- Must be a licensed RN or LPN in good standing with the state (as required)
- 1-2 years wound care experience required
- Wound Care Certification (WOCN) preferred
- 1 years of long term care experience preferred
