We have an immediate opportunity for a Director Wound Care Services.

General Summary: The Director Wound Care Services is responsible for the delivery of wound-related patient care that promotes the safety and well-being of all inpatients seen in the wound care program. Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the overall clinical practice including fiscal, material, and human resource management. The Director of Wound Care Services acts as a clinical and administrative resource to physicians, administrators, other Wound Care staff, and others as required ensuring efficient organization and department operations. Participates in the development of policies and procedures for the department. The Director of Wound Care Services is responsible for oversight of Wound Care programs. The Director is actively involved in department activities, transdisciplinary team activities, and LifeCare activities to ensure individualized, patient-centered health care for all patient populations admitted to LifeCare Hospital.

Patient Population: Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the patients served. The ages of the patients served are adult (18-65 years of age) and geriatric (65 and older) populations.

Requirements

Supervision: Directs the functions and employees of Wound Care program.

Experience: Three to five years’ experience working in Wound Care. Three to five years management experience preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, or combination of an Associate’s degree in an approved Registered Nurse program and meaningful and appropriate experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in state where currently practicing. Board certification as a CWS or WOCN or fulfillment of CWS or WOCN requirements within 6 months of hire into this role. Current BLS certification is required upon hire. Must maintain current licensure and BLS certifications while employed with LifeCare Hospitals.
