The Computer-Aided Engineering Director provides expertise and technical leadershipfor benchmarking, concept design, prototype development, simulation, testing protocols, and optimization utilizing CAE design and analysis techniques and tools. Directs and oversees CAE technical and team capability to support product, component, or structure design. Being a Computer-Aided Engineering Director requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Develops and optimizes CAE methodology, including guidelines and standards, to increase design process efficiency. In addition, Computer-Aided Engineering Director typically reports to senior management. The Computer-Aided Engineering Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Working as a Computer-Aided Engineering Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
