Job Description

The Director of Housekeeping conducts inspections of facilities and recommends repairs and upgrades when needed. Directs and coordinates the daily operations of a housekeeping services department to ensure offices, patient/guest rooms, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition. Being a Director of Housekeeping may create quality standards and monitors the implementation. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. In addition, Director of Housekeeping may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Director of Housekeeping typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
