Job Description

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineering Manager designs and develops facilities, work areas and work procedures. Plans, develops and manages company policies for adhering to local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Being an Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineering Manager ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Directs preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. In addition, Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineering Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to environmental, health, and safety engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Environmental, Health, and Safety Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
