Job Description

The Equipment Maintenance Crew Manager implements and sets priorities for the preventive maintenance program which includes greasing and lubricating, replacing filters in air and hydraulic systems, changing belts or drive equipment, checking product handling equipment for wear or damage, inspecting crane cables and hooks and checking hydraulic and pneumatic systems for spills or leaks. Supervises a mechanical maintenance crew involved in the maintenance and installation of mechanical equipment and systems. Being an Equipment Maintenance Crew Manager monitors employee compliance with safety procedures. Selects, trains, evaluates, disciplines, motivates and ensures safety of the mechanical maintenance team. In addition, Equipment Maintenance Crew Manager may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically requires an associate's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of unit/department. The Equipment Maintenance Crew Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Working as an Equipment Maintenance Crew Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
