Job Description

The ER Nurse Leader delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and emergency room staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of emergency room patient clinical records, and writes reports on emergency room staff performance and services rendered. Directs nursing service activities in the emergency room. Being an ER Nurse Leader must be graduate of an accredited nursing program with current state licensure. Maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. In addition, ER Nurse Leader typically reports to top management. The ER Nurse Leader manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.
