Job Description

The Nursing Services Director -Skilled Nursing advises management, patient care staff and administrators in matters related to nursing service. Administers the nursing program in a nursing home in order to maintain standards of patient care. Being a Nursing Services Director -Skilled Nursing interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups. Recommends establishment or revision of policies and develops organizational structure and standards of performance. In addition, Nursing Services Director -Skilled Nursing typically requires an advanced degree of nursing. Typically reports to top management or a facility administrator. Requires RN license. The Nursing Services Director -Skilled Nursing typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Working as a Nursing Services Director -Skilled Nursing typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.
