The Operational Risk Management Director develops strategies, controls, and measures to monitor and mitigate the risk exposure of assets. Directs and administers an organization's risk-management programs. Being an Operational Risk Management Director oversees the building of financial models to predict the risk exposure of an organization's assets. Monitors the effectiveness of procedures to identify points of improvement. In addition, Operational Risk Management Director reviews risk analysis reports to ensure risks are identified and managed effectively. Promotes organization-wide understanding of risks and risk management strategies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Operational Risk Management Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Working as an Operational Risk Management Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
