The Technical Project Estimating Manager implements technical estimating standards and procedures and oversees the work of project estimators. Manages the daily activities of an estimating department for an engineering organization. Being a Technical Project Estimating Manager may be responsible for the training and staffing of estimating department. Solicits supplier bids and proposals for labor, material and equipment and evaluates proposals to ensure they meet project specifications and budget requirement. In addition, Technical Project Estimating Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Technical Project Estimating Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as a Technical Project Estimating Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
