The User Experience Design and Development Manager oversees project lifecycles from conceptualization through delivery. Manages the design of web pages and development of web-based technical solutions that engage users and meet business requirements. Being an User Experience Design and Development Manager manages web infrastructure development, including back-end database development and the construction of SQL queries via CGI scripting. Develops creative designs and ensures that content meets brand standards and targets the intended audience. In addition, User Experience Design and Development Manager oversees site usability testing. Requires knowledge of web technologies and tools such as HTML, Shockwave, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Flex, Adobe Flash, JavaScript, CSS, Ruby, Python, PERL, PHP, Active Server Pages, and C++. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to head of a unit/department. The User Experience Design and Development Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Working as an User Experience Design and Development Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
