Applications Engineering Manager II manages daily activities of applications engineers that review customers' technical needs and recommend specific product/service solutions to meet these needs. Leads research and the preparation of reports on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment. Being an Applications Engineering Manager II oversees and contributes to the design and development of equipment and systems or redesign of existing equipment to fulfill customer needs. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, Applications Engineering Manager II acts as advisor to applications engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Applications Engineering Manager II manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Applications Engineering Manager II typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
