Job Description

Distribution Director directs all policy, procedure and operational aspects of the distribution center. Ensures timely and cost efficient delivery of inventory and finished goods. Being a Distribution Director utilizes systems to monitor and track inventory through the distribution chain and identify and resolve issues. Manages inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehouse operations and maintenance of fleet, equipment and facilities. Additionally, Distribution Director may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Distribution Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Distribution Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
