Job Description for Facilities Mechanic Technician IV
Facilities Mechanic Technician IV maintains and services a facility's mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution systems, and HVAC systems. Performs preventative maintenance and routine repairs to a facility's systems and equipment. Being a Facilities Mechanic Technician IV conducts periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage. Uses technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair equipment, engines, and compressors. Additionally, Facilities Mechanic Technician IV orders parts needed for replacement and coordinates with service providers to complete maintenance tasks. Uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system to track and document activities. Follows established safety procedures and regulations for handling materials. May have completed a trade apprenticeship or technical training. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Facilities Mechanic Technician IV independently performs a wide range of complex duties under general guidance from supervisors.
