Conducts only waived and moderate level testing as classified by CLIA. Additionally, Medical Lab Technician - Certified typically requires an associate degree in lab science. Typically reports to a Medical Technologist. Requires certification by ASCP or AMT. Requires passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Medical Lab Technician - Certified's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
