Typically requires an associate's degree or its equivalent. Additionally, Medical Records Coding Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Typically requires Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from AAPC or AHIMA. The Medical Records Coding Technician gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
