Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners repairs percussion instruments, such as drums, cymbals, and xylophones: Removes drum tension rod screws and rods by hand or using drum key. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Being a Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners requires 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Percussion Instrument Repairers and Tuners relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
