Pipeline Operations Manager manages overall operations of crude oil and/or natural gas pipelines. Ensures safe and efficient operations of the pipeline system. Being a Pipeline Operations Manager serves as a company representative on regulatory and environmental issues. Looks for opportunities to expand the pipeline system. Additionally, Pipeline Operations Manager requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to top management. The Pipeline Operations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
