Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care in a home care environment, diagnoses and treats speech and language problems, and engages in scientific study of human communication. Evaluates speech and language skills as related to educational, medical, social, and psychological factors. Being a Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care plans, directs, or conducts rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication problems of organic and nonorganic etiology. Speech disorders treated include stuttering, voice disorders, articulation, injury, and problems associated with other speech impairments. Additionally, Speech and Language Pathologist - Home Care requires a master's degree of speech-language pathology. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. May require a certificate of clinical competence in speech-language pathology (CCC). May require to meet certain state licensing requirements.
