Job Description for UI/Usability Design Director

UI/Usability Design Director directs a department of UI designers who apply user-centered design principles to improve the workflow, expand the functionality, and enhance the visual appeal of websites and mobile apps. Oversees the development of the overall design philosophy for improving the workflow, functionality, and visual appeal of the organization's online presence. Being a UI/Usability Design Director establishes new projects and initiatives, ensures requirements are gathered from users and stakeholders, and oversees projects at a high level. Ensures UI design projects align with and support broader organizational initiatives and direction. Additionally, UI/Usability Design Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The UI/Usability Design Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
