Benefits Manager

You are an experienced Benefits professional who deliver compelling global benefits programs to our employees.

About the Role

10x Genomics is looking for our very first Benefits Manager! You will be responsible for owning and managing all of our benefits offerings, time off, workers comp among other benefits programs and will help improve the current employee experience in the US and all of our global locations. This position will require you to partner closely with 10x employees, cross-functional partners and external vendors to ensure the effective delivery of these benefit programs. 

What you will be doing:

• Responsible for employee benefits programs such as medical, dental, vision plans; life and disability insurance plans; leave of absence programs; retirement plans in partnership with our benefits broker
• Manage vendors, regulatory and policy compliance, internal and external audits, annual holiday calendar planning and system automation
• Coordinate with brokers/vendors on renewals, RFPs, benchmarking and survey participation
• Serve as employees’ first point of contact for benefit programs, including managing ‘level 1’ tickets. Act as a subject matter expert for escalation of employee benefits inquiries and complaints to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution
• Maintain a solid foundation of benefits compliance to ensure the program is meeting all legislative requirements
• Work closely with the benefits consultants and insurance carriers to implement approved new plans or changes to existing plans by preparing announcement materials, plan summary documents and communications to employees
• Lead Global Benefits projects and initiatives

To be successful in the role, you will need:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 8+ years benefits/time-off administration and analysis experience
• Solid understanding of U.S. time off and leave of absence laws, regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency with HR systems, including Workday
• Strong program and vendor management experience
• Solid experience in leading project-based work 
• Proven ability to work in a detailed, fast-paced, and dynamic environment with the versatility to managing multiple projects, priorities and urgent issues successfully and simultaneously
• A self-starter who is highly motivated, and able to shift directions quickly when priorities change and bring other teams along smoothly and effectively
• Proficient with MS Excel and comfortable with data analysis
