What is the role and where can you add value?

This is a Colorado-based position.

2-10 Home Buyers Warranty is seeking a highly motivated, adaptive and customer-centric individual to join our Purchasing Team. In this ENTRY-LEVEL role, the Purchasing Associate I is responsible for the purchasing of repair parts and/or replacement units within our HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Appliance supplier networks. You will be required to research and place orders for the appropriate part(s) while taking into consideration pricing and availability. In this role, you will complete order confirmations and may be asked to process order returns, as needed.  Above all else, you will be expected to provide excellent customer service to internal departments, suppliers, contractors and homeowners.

• Completes assigned volume of BOMs (bill of materials) and purchase orders in the trades of HVAC, Appliance or Water Heaters effectively.
• Follows all the current department processes including all supplier, homeowner, and contractor telephone and email communication requirements.
• Reviews Bill of Materials, reads pertinent notes, and effectively selects the most effective course of action based on training received.
• Researches and selects appropriate product(s) to be ordered from the most cost effective supplier utilizing contractor designated preferred suppliers first.
• Places the order with the supplier and provides notes documenting the details of the purchase order
• Updates all customers and contractors with ordered status and updates required.
• Completes order confirmations with suppliers and provides well-articulated notes documenting the details of the order status and estimated time of arrival (ETA) in HVAC and Appliances or Water Heaters.
• Learns the process of returns in HVAC, Appliances and Water Heaters trades.
• Completes contractor Direct Supply orders.
• Other duties as assigned.

What skills and experience should you bring to this role?

• High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant work experience
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Critical thinking skills and the ability to assess complex scenarios effectively
• Intermediate + Computer Skills and familiarity with MS Office suite
