What does an Post Production Coordinator do at companies like 2U, Inc.?

Summary of Job:

Our team seeks a Video Post-Production Coordinator with strong organizational and problem solving skills to help manage the video post-production delivery process. The Post-Production Coordinator works closely with the Post-Production Manager to ensure quality control and timely delivery of virtual academic video content. A qualified candidate must be able to communicate and collaborate professionally both internally and with outside vendors. A successful Post Production Coordinator will remain a self-motivated, positive presence, while managing the delivery workflow for multiple projects in a fast-moving environment. They must pay unwavering attention to detail while staying focused on our ultimate goal of delivering a polished product in a timely fashion.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  1. (Ongoing) Support senior Post Production staff in managing all aspects of post-production process
  2. Coordinate video quality assurance assignments, distribute reports to production teams, and help track and maintain digital video file deliveries to and from outside vendors (40%) 
  3. Carryout & coordinate video post production requests; prioritize and perform duties (30%) 
  4. Communication between stakeholders and vendors, regarding video post production requests, project requirements and deadlines (20%)
  5. Update systems and documentation such as Jira and quality assurance reports. (10%)
  6. (Ongoing) Assist in resolving interdepartmental action items


Education and Experience:

  • 4+ years overall Video Production experience 
  • 2+ years specialized Post-Production and/or Video Quality Assurance experience
  • Proven ability to exercise sound decision making in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Digital/Media Asset Management Programs, and/or Product/Project Management Systems such as AHA! and JIRA
  • Familiarity with related post production software including Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop). Video editing skills are a bonus
  • Experience with various technology and software solutions such as Google apps, Microsoft Office, Amazon Web Services, Slack and overall web-savviness
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a courteous, tactful, and concise manner
  • Supremely organized, uses good judgment, and capable of handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Effective team leadership skills
  • A positive, proactive and collaborative attitude
