What does an Decriminalization Petition Campaign Staff do at companies like 360 CAMPAIGN CONSULTING?

360 Campaign Consulting is seeking petitioning staff to join us on an exciting campaign to qualify two ballot initiatives for the November 2020 election. One iniitative will use existing money from recreational marijuana sales taxes to fund an expansion of addiction treatment services throughout the state, while the second will decriminalize the controlled use of psilocybin (the psychoactive agent in mushrooms) as a therapeutic method for treating depression, addiction, and other serious medical issues that affect millions of Americans.

Petitioning staff will work in busy public places to educate the public about both issues. They will demonstrate interest in these issues by collecting signatures from registered Oregon voters stating they wish to vote on the subject in November. There is no fundraising involved in the work. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who seeks to create social change through direct democracy and gain campaign experience.

This position begins ASAP and will end by May 1, 2020.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Circulating petitions and collecting signatures at assigned high traffic areas.
  • Performing required reporting tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Regular and reliable submission of collected materials.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Strong communication skills, a good work ethic, and a passion for social change.
  • Able to work with a team and receive feedback, as well as work independently.
  • Previous petitioning, non-profit, or political campaign experience preferred but not required.
  • Willingness and ability to approach people in high traffic public places.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Location:
  • Portland and Eugene, OR.

Salary:
  • $18/hr with the opportunity for bonuses.
