As an Intern, you will apply strategic, analytical, and creative thinking to share and implement ideas to effectively address and engage the Hispanic market in the mainland and Puerto Rico

On an average day, you will:

  • Learn to navigate the working environment of a digital editorial team
  • Research and present well-thought-out pitches for inclusion in the editorial lineup
  • Outline, interview and draft stories directly in Spanish, including researching accompanying images and SEO keywords, and writing social media and promo copy
  • Build articles and other interactive features directly in our CMS
  • Use Omniture Analytics for basic metrics reporting

Attend team and cross-department meetings, as needed


Prospective interns must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctorate students.

Journalism or Digital Communications major preferred. Must be bilingual English/Spanish and bicultural, with strong knowledge of the U.S. Hispanic community and strong oral and written Spanish skills. Knowledge and familiarity with social media, SEO, and Content Management Systems (CMS) a big plus. We seek a team player with a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, attention to detail, and a passion for excellence.

AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers. This may include those who have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program.
