Purchasing Expeditor
Job Description
- The Expeditor provides operational oversight of commercial POs to ensure suppliers are meeting the PO terms; including but not limited to delivery schedule, price and quantity
- For backlogged Purchase Orders, the Expeditor will identify research, analyze and resolve the issue with a positive outcome
- When necessary communicate with suppliers on their responsibilities by purchase order line to include part number, quantity, price, delivery schedule and site
- Update purchase orders with notes, estimated delivery dates, and/or tracking numbers.
- Follows established guidelines in performing complex day to day tasks
- Communicate with Vendors to ensure delivery schedule is met
- Liaise with Materials Management personnel at supplier locations as needed to support timely delivery of materials on case by case basis
- Develop plan of action to reconcile Open Commitments/Backlog lines Identify material that can be cancelled at no charge or material that can be cancelled with re-stocking fee Coordinate with Sr. Buyers on any PO changes that need to occur
- Advise and notify Logistics when sites receive parts so the purchase orders may be closed out opportunities. Perform any or all of these duties as a part of a work group or team fully supporting the goals and objectives of the company
- Performs daily administrative duties such as typing, mailing, filing, faxing and distribution of correspondence for Purchasing Department
- Processes Daily & Weekly reports as required
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Perform QA/QC on procurement documentation for new Purchase Order requests
- Conduct/Research Report of Discrepancy (ROD) resolution Overage/Shortage/Damage
- Perform clean up and reconciliation of AP Discrepant Report
- Execute system and requisition validation and reconciliation to ensure that all procurement actions are closed
Basic Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, and Excel) is required
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and all levels of the organization
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to work accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of office equipment and general office procedures
- Bachelor's degree
- Must be able to follow a project to completion
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 or more years’ experience in purchasing or customer service field is desired
