POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Associate Director, Medical Affairs provides daily business operations support for Medical Affair issues related to product development, on market quality issues, compliance issues, commercial/marketing activities and customer interactions. Assists medical directors in being medical representative of ADD to external regulatory agencies and professional societies.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main responsibilities of the Associate Director of Medical Affairs will include:

  • Develops initial medical opinions, medical platform documents and Health Hazard Assessments for review by medical directors.
  • Provides initial medical input for promotional and commercial activities as requested.
  • Serves as medical representative on Risk Evaluation teams.
  • Assists investigation teams by providing medical input as needed.
  • Assist the medical director with direct customer interactions as needed.
  • Provides Medical Affairs input at a site level.
  • Work is reviewed by medical directors (or above) prior to approval.
  • Provide timely responses to prevent delay is project timelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Medical Degree required
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience
  • 3 years supervisory/managerial experience strongly desired
  • Knowledge of U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, EU regulations (e.g. IVD-R), and other regulatory requirements and applicable technical standards desired

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment, where key resources may not be co-located.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must; must be able to forge partnerships with new and existing vendors: must be able to communicate effectively at multiple levels within the organization.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong or organizational, planning, and follow-up skills; ability to delegate and hold others accountable.  Prior ability in building strong teams and organizations is a plus.
  • Ability to travel, including internationally
