The Product Manager is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies, programs, tools and tactics to support the MitraClip franchise in the US and International markets. 

Specifically, the Product Manager will develop and implement a marketing and business plan to:

  • Develop and execute product specific marketing plans
  • Support development of franchise strategic marketing plan
  • Develop customer segmentation strategy to identify and develop marketing programs, tactics and tools
  • Develop competitive selling tools and strategies
  • Develop and execute podium strategy
  • Develop and execute of publication strategy
  • Support franchise physician engagement strategy
     

The Product Manager is responsible for working closely with global marketing partners in the US, EMEA, APAC and CALA regions to identify opportunities, address issues and drive growth in MitraClip revenues and customer acceptance.  Marketing programs, tools and tactics will be developed to ensure initiatives have impact in the operating year. 

Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Working with geo partners to develop a thorough analysis of market size, procedure volume and penetration model that feeds the therapy market model
  • Account and customer segmentation
  • Development of business and marketing plans for new products
  • Identification and implementation of marketing programs, tactics and training tools to overcome objections and increase utilization
  • Develop and implement publication strategy and podium strategy
  • Development of marketing materials and tools

Key skills required:

  • Strong influence management skills—effectively influences a wide variety geographies/cultures including Europe, Asia Pacific, Japan, Australia and Canada and functions including  regulatory, sales, marketing, research, manufacturing and other cross functional Uses conflict resolution skills to achieve results through cross functional groups.
  • Excellent communication skills—has frequent contact with key opinion leaders and broad customer contact as well as interfaces with senior-level management from cross functional groups and geographies  to facilitate product related decisions.
  • Strong team player—ability to work as a key member of the tissue valve franchise and work effectively with sales leadership in the US, Europe and ACLA as well as with R&D and clinicals
  • Strong leadership skills—ability to function as the marketing “lead”
  • Project management skills—ability to manage complex projects and programs.  Ability to pull the appropriate level functional and geographic functions together to support initiatives.

Key skills/experience preferred:

  • Knowledge of CV anatomy, physiology and heart valve or cardiac surgery or cardiology products
  • Experience in upstream new product planning
  • Experience in downstream product launches and marketing plan development and execution
  • Experience in product marketing and therapy development
  • Knowledge/experience with customer base—interventional cardiologists
  • Understanding of implantable medical products clinical and regulatory process and environments

Education/experience level required:

  • 5+ years in product planning, product marketing, health science, sales or clinical environment
  • Advanced knowledge in health sciences or medical devices
  • BS/BA in engineering, health sciences, marketing, business
  • MBA preferred
  • 30-50% travel
