Demonstrate stewardship and leadership in the application of QA policies and procedures, projects, and systems used to develop Abbott Nutrition product labels.  The LATAM Global Labeling Operations manager is responsible for oversight of change management for new product labeling and revisions to existing labels for products manufactured by all Abbott owned and contracted facilities marketed within the LATAM Commercial Region.  Oversight of change management includes ensuring that changes are appropriate, justified, and approved by responsible functional areas according to established procedures.  Collaborates with Area Commercial Leadership, Country Affiliate leadership, Project Management, and Regulatory to ensure tactical alignment and execution.  Champion the labeling process within the LATAM region and across the Global Labeling Operations group.  Identify and leverage opportunities to drive an improved labeling process (e.g. culture, training, processes, tools, standards, etc.).  Develop effective communication systems that align personnel efforts and external supply partners to achieve strategic objectives of the respective area.

Main Responsibilities

  • Directly manages multiple label editors and desktop publishers.  Provides coaching, mentoring, and effective oversight of the team to build organizational capabilities.
  • Directs Quality personnel to support product launches by defining labeling projects in coordination with management, project leaders, and key stakeholders, such as Project Management, Regulatory, and Nutrition Science.
  • Implements improvements to the Quality Systems and tools by directing personnel to gather data on existing quality tools, identify weaknesses, and research/select new tools based on findings.
  • Ensures sustaining support of Quality System and regulatory compliance by individually working Quality System issues and by delegating project work for maintaining Quality System capability.
  • Supplier Management: Sets expectations and directs management of key suppliers and vendors related to labeling development.
  • Provides support in identifying cost and process improvement programs for label control activities, and the delivery thereof.

  • Promotes the attainment of group goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable staff
  • Provides leadership by communicating and providing guidance towards achieving group objectives
  • Responsible for identifying and elevating interests specific to the region as necessary

  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and present to upper management and to global extended teams
  • Must be able to develop effective presentations that outline strategy, goals, and implementation

Planning/Organization:

  • Schedules human and material resources within a group or section in conjunction with near-term plans to ensure their availability
  • Must be able to rearrange priorities on short notice to react to customer needs
  • Carries out operations within an established budget

  • Assignments are expressed in the form of tasks and objectives
  • Makes day-to-day decisions within established guidelines regarding work processes or schedules in order to achieve objectives established by senior management
  • Consequences of erroneous decisions would normally result in serious delays to assigned projects or operations with substantial expenditure of time, human resources, and funds.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree
