We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager Material Management within our Abbott Rapid Diagnostics business located at Scarborough, Maine. In this role, you will manage warehouse operations, including receiving, material preparation for manufacturing and final product shipping. Develop and implement cGMP compliant warehousing processes and procedures (SOPs) to support the site and to support approval of the Scarborough site by regulatory agencies. Your will meet customer requirements by maintaining accurate distribution plans for both domestic and international shipments. You will collaborate with Quality, Purchasing, and Operations teams to ensure site and company goals are met. You will maintain the warehouse physical inventory through routine cycle counts and investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy. You will maintain all warehouse areas in a state of cGMP and OSHA compliance at all times and ensure warehouse materials are stored and issued/disposed of properly, taking into consideration storage conditions and materials status, including rejected and hazardous materials. You will manage all shipping, receiving and Inventory Control functions and ensure smooth material flow and transactions. You will work with freight vendors to negotiate distribution contracts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for supervision of receiving, storage, internal/external transportation of batch related, miscellaneous, and other materials, lot traceability, and maintenance of GMP compliant warehouse.
  • Manage and develop warehouse personnel; including day-to day operations, training, performance management, and attendance.
  • Interact with plant management on operating issues relative to transportation, warehouse, and inventory control that impact plant operations.
  • Adheres to corporate trade compliance regarding import/export.
  • Maintains department schedules which support production without delays.
  • Plan and coordinate efficient transfer of materials and finished products to and from production and warehouse areas.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper inventory control procedures and documentation for all raw materials and production supplies and finished product produced, stored, and shipped from the plant.
  • Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOPs, regulatory requirements, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements.
  • Support plant-wide strategic plan programs and activities.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, and/or a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in GMP warehouse management experience required

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven warehouse and materials management experience in life sciences, biotech or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Prior experience with accounting principles
  • Dangerous Goods Training Power Truck Training
  • Logistics training - Domestic and International Safety Training
