Main Responsibilities –

This position is responsible for managing a group of operations quality engineers.  They are responsible for establishing a manufacturing line, core team member on a development team and validating new products prior to commercial release.  The manager will oversee the programs, policies, processes, procedures and controls ensuring that performance and quality of products conform to established standards and agency regulations.

Job Responsibilities –

  • Define and communicate overall vision and cascaded objectives for the departments.
  • Lead employees in driving continuous improvement in department processes and establishing departmental objectives to meet divisional goals.
  • Develop, train, implement and continuously approve upon company and business unit policies and procedures.
  • Provide routine communications with cross functional peers to assure awareness.
  • Provide timely performance & developmental evaluations of departmental staff.
  • Assess and develop employee skillsets to assure effective support.
  • Work cross functionally in identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Champions quality and compliance through awareness of requirements, trends and other external influencing factors especially in the area of compliance and quality systems.
  • Builds strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to further departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Demonstrates effective change leadership.
  • Coordinates across functional areas, business units, and/or geographies in order to achieve company or area goals.
  • Establish and maintain Quality Systems that are in compliance with regulatory requirements and meet business needs.
  • Reviews, analyzes and presents to senior staff and other groups the effectiveness of the Quality System.
  • Communicates quality policies, strategies and procedures to the organization through written documents, presentations and discussions.
  • Support all Divisional initiatives as identified by divisional management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to proactively assure compliance to all applicable internal, domestic and international quality regulations, US 21 CFR 820 (QSR), ISO 13485, etc.
  • Identify and manage activities related to adding value to the organization through risk reduction, cost improvement, and budgetary responsibility.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.  Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

General Qualifications

Education Level Major/Field of Study Or Education Level: Bachelors Degree (± 7 years) Related field an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience Details

  • Minimum 2 years Related to product quality within an FDA/ISO certified environment.
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and enable department employees in meeting objectives.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Experience in supervision/training/managing staff.
  • Experience with computers and software application knowledge consistent with engineering environments.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model preferred.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.  
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
