This position is responsible for developing, establishing and maintaining quality systems programs, policies, processes, procedures, training materials, and controls enhancing the performance and quality of products and the divisional capability to demonstrate conformance to established standards and agency regulations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide expert level guidance and direction of the Quality Systems Body-of-Knowledge
  • Aggressively identify opportunities to apply, continuously improve, and redefine quality systems and controls for all divisional product-related processes in accordance with applicable internal, domestic and international quality regulations, US 21 CFR 820 (QSR), ISO 13485, etc.
  • Aggressively identify and manage activities related to adding value to the organization through risk reduction, cost improvement, and budgetary responsibility.
  • Provide influential leadership with local and International sites to drive proactive quality system improvements
  • Represent Quality Systems as required in support of cross-functional divisional projects.
  • Identify Quality Initiatives and lead cross-functional teams to complete them.
  • Assess resource needs to assure that the accurate level of quality support is provided when needed with the competencies needed.
  • Maintain effective Quality Metrics and define and execute activities to resolve decreases in performance
  • Provide management and development of the Quality Systems staff.

  • Hires and retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and provides ongoing performance feedback.
  • Sets goals which align to department plans and manages the execution of goals through coaching and mentoring.
  • Maintains a safe and professional work environment.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and monitors progress of exempt specialists and/or supervisory staff toward departmental goals.
  • Monitors costs of projects and of human and material resources within a department or unit; monitors company-wide indicators such as market share and profitability; monitors external environment in area of technical or professional responsibility.
  • Will perform this job in a quality system environment.
  • Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
  • Develops and/or identifies new work processes and the improved utilization of human and material resources within the assigned or related functions or groups; facilitates others' participation in the continuous improvement program; investigates and solves problems that impact work processes and personnel within or across units or departments; develops and communicates a vision for the organizational unit assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Science, Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Minimum 9 years work experience in quality functional roles desired with at least 3 years of direct management and supervision of personnel and resources
  • Minimum 5 years of proven leadership skills, including experience setting goals, providing positive and constructive feedback and improving business results

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience
