The Warehousing Manager is responsible for a multi-functional organization overseeing the day to day operations for the Logistics and Distribution functions for the warehouse. This includes all receiving, shipping, imports, exports, Customs, FTZ and inventory management activities.

Warehouse Material Handling Unit manages the configuration and delivery of material kitting systems for the manufacturing and catalog operation.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager, Warehousing position is responsible for all Logistics and Distribution activities for the Warehouses including receiving materials from suppliers, and supporting the Incoming Quality Acceptance processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring orders are packaged per DOT, IATA rules, reviewing and processing documents to ensure products conform to regulatory requirements; and ensure that all employees are properly trained per OP's, CAPA, GMP, ISO, FDA regulations and Safety Programs.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to ensuring all shipping and receiving deadlines are met; ensuring material kitting systems are delivered to Manufacturing Operations; and supporting Incoming Quality Acceptance processes for staging.
  • Foster communication and teamwork among staff and inter-department functional areas to ensure accomplishment of site goals
  • Develop and maintain departmental metrics, including, but not limited to, cycle counting, personnel efficiency, % utilization, aging/obsolescence reports, etc.  
  • Reading, understanding and analyzing daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports; use these reports to evaluate department’s performance
  • Communicating with purchasing, planning, Quality, Marketing, Clinical Affairs, etc. to ensure all logistics and distribution requirements and needs are satisfied.
  • Ensuring all Customs and FTZ regulations, requirements, and paperwork are in order at all times, for shipments out of the warehouses
  • Addressing employee related issues to include coaching and development, training, performance assessments and reviews, corrective counseling, and hiring of exempt and non-exempt personnel.
  • Overseeing implementation of new procedures, safety improvement programs and cost reductions within the warehouse and material handling operations.  
  • Analyzing and conceptualize methodology in accordance with Lean Principles within the organization

QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Bachelors degree in business, marketing, supply chain management, engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience
  • Must be familiar with all Logistics and Distribution requirements, terms, Customs Rules/Regulations, FTZ Rules/Regulation.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and people effectively. People management experience required.
  • Background in Lean Sigma processes for warehouses and operations preferred. Development and adherence to  departmental metrics required.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing operations impacted by Quality Systems, cGMP requirements, and a high level of FDA and third-party scrutiny is desired.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills are essential and the ability to interact effectively at all levels of management and with customers inside and outside of Abbott.
