The Controller for AMD Operations is the leader of the operations and supply chain finance team for the Division.  Their primary responsibilities include the development and execution of PLAN, LRP and LBE.  In addition, they will be responsible for the annual standard setting process, cost and inventory accounting, supply chain support, capex spend project management, and lead strategic processes/initiatives including Gross Margin programs (GMI). Overall financial responsibility includes management of $120MM SCOP, $70MM spend (Including Capital), and $61MM of Inventory. The position is also responsible for leading and developing a finance team of 5 Finance professionals.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Accountable for delivering AMD Des Plaines Site LRP & PLAN reviews.
• Leader of the AMD annual standard setting process.  This includes development of timelines, definition and communication of requirements, partnering with operating management, analysis and rationalization of overall plan profile, updating and maintaining financial system data, burden rate development, cost change analysis and standard cost submissions to Division.
• Provides short/long term financial support for capacity analysis to enhance decisions related to headcount, key equipment and/or facility investments and develops plans that meet division strategies and goals for product availability and costs.
• Leads key supply chain strategic and tactical initiatives including inventory optimization, S&OP process optimization, insourcing/outsourcing decision and cost reduction strategies
• Financial oversight for a Third-Party instrument manufacturer for key AMD Platform.
• Lead Financial partner within the Site providing decision support for senior Site Management.
• Coordination and financial management of the AMD Site Operations investment responsibility. 
• Active participation in the implementation of GMI (gross margin) initiative.
• Maintain proper internal controls and compliance with Abbott policies and procedures.  Support both internal and external audit requests as well as SOX activities and compliance.
• Lead, manage, and develop a team – 5 FTEs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in finance/accounting, An MBA, CPA and/or CMA is strongly encouraged.   Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting.
• Demonstrated success in managing finance professionals.
• Strong leadership competencies are a must: set vision and strategy, build and inspire, know the business, drive for results, make the difficult decisions, and encourage an open environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Highly effective interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and influencing skills as position interfaces with various levels across the organization (including senior management) in both finance and operations functions.
• Prior experience in cost accounting/operations environment.
• Prior experience supporting Supply chain and/or procurement
• Strong excel and power point skills and knowledge of SAP
