This position is responsible for ensuring company wide purchasing system compliance, and leadership in the application of purchasing policies and procedures.  This includes overall responsibility for the procurement of all goods and services that ADC uses to develop new products, produce existing products and support business functions, including, but not limited to:    Production materials and contracted manufacturing services R&D and production capital equipment                  Contract negotiations for multiple sites  MRO goods and services Facilities construction, office equipment and related services  Information systems equipment, data communications and software Procurement contracts and agreements for goods and services Managing planning and production of Third Party Manufacturing Managing supplier relationships for all indirect (MRO) suppliers.

Responsibilities:

Develops and prioritizes overall purchasing department goals and objectives.

Measures performance, and.

Institutes corrective actions to achieve them when  necessary.

Leads and manages critical material, capital equipment and services contract negotiations.

Negotiates multimillion dollar contracts that will impact multiple sites.

Ensures the implementation and use of all purchasing modules in PeopleSoft.

Develops and monitors the Abbott Supplier Diversity Program.

Promote and ensure compliance with all division Purchasing policies and procedures.

Ensure division Purchasing policies and procedures comply with applicable statutory, regulatory and Corporate requirements.

Responsible for the quality and delivery of all purchased goods and services.

Develops objectives and programs to reduce the total acquisition costs for MRO and purchased services.

Responsible for insuring procurement staff development and providing professional guidance.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree (MBA preferred) required or minimum of eight years demonstrated increasing experience in Procurement or Sourcing function, five of which were in managing roles in that function.  Very good financial skills, with understanding of costing models, financial statements (i.e. income statement, balance sheets and cash flow statements).  Demonstrated experience in baseline analysis, leverage indications, target setting, negotiation strategies, and execution of negotiations.  Able to define and develop a category strategy.  Demonstrated skills in contract development and negotiation including negotiating contracts impacting multiple sites.  Demonstrated experience with development, implementation and management of company wide Procurement system policies and procedures.  Proven ability to work successfully cross-functionally and collaboratively to problem solve, initiate and manage projects, influence internal and external groups, and provide leadership from a Procurement perspective.   Significant experience in developing and maintaining positive supplier relationships.  Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal skills.
