The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Structural Heart division. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.

As the Quality Technician II, you have the chance to provide technical assistance to engineering to support Product Performance Engineering (PPE) and manufacturing efforts by investigating returned devices. Also, Implementing corrective and preventative actions. Assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to control or improve manufacturing or product investigation processes

What You’ll Work On

  • Provides PPE and manufacturing support by reviewing and analyzing returned devices data to determine manufacturing issues and trends. May also train operators on processes and engineering changes, and perform operator certification on-the-job training and testing
  • Identifies, resolves and prevents potential Manufacturing issues by assisting in the determination of root cause and implementing corrective and preventative action; supports activities to track complaint product returns
  • Reviews and evaluates dispositions returned devices non-conforming material by utilizing quality tools and by developing knowledge of manufacturing practices and procedures. Identifies and resolves systemic issues based on trends noted during review of non-conforming material
  • Supports process development during new product introduction by defining traceability and inspection requirements, developing statistical process control criteria, developing manufacturing instructions, and creating training sheets and certifications. May also train other operators on processes and engineering changes and perform operator certification on-the-job training and testing.
  • Provides input to engineering, qualification, and validation studies and reports by collecting, compiling, measuring, organizing and recording data, and by writing procedures. May keep lab notebook

Qualifications

  • Two-year degree (preferred) with 4 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and technical work experience.
  • Recommends/utilizes/interprets advanced numerical and statistical data and/or computer software programs to present documentation and analysis and resolve complex problems. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
  • Performs and guides technical activities resulting from self-initiated or assigned programs leading to innovative applications of existing or new products, systems, or technologies having major importance to the department and organization.
  • Return/Failure Analysis experience preferred. ASQ or Technician Certification a plus.
  • Experience in a regulated environment and clean room experience a plus. Hands-on Medical Device experience preferred.
