This is a key role serving the Scrum Team in resolving impediments, owning and managing the Scrum process, and guarding the Scrum Team. The role is responsible for performing a wide range of duties including training, coaching, facilitating, and optimizing the environment for Team performance. POSITION SUMMARY
As
an important member of an Agile environment, the Scrum Master is expected to cultivate,
grow, and maintain core principals including, but not limited to, continuous
improvement, self-organization, adaptive planning, and value driven development. Additionally, the Scrum Master will possess a
growth-mindset, be team-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, and possess
the ability to deal with ambiguity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Trains and coaches the Scrum Team on upholding Scrum practices and values.
Promotes and coaches team in self-organization.
Helps team and individuals to clarify goals and actions to achieve commitments.
Shields the Team from outside distractions and interference.
Track and remove impediments for the Scrum Team.
Builds a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgement.
Facilitates Scrum ceremonies.
Facilitates and schedules meetings .
Identifies conflicts within the team, resolves those conflicts.
Assists with internal and external communication to improve transparency and information.
Supports the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog.
Promotes a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
Participate in Scrum or Agile Communities of Practice.
