Job Description:
Under the guidance of the Sr. Manager of Facilities, EHS & Security, this position is responsible for the supervision of Maintenance Workers specific to Production and Research areas. This includes coordination with vendors and contractors to accomplish all maintenance work necessary to provide production and R&D area facilities support. This position works hand in hand with the Facilities Supervisor who is responsible for facilities and grounds outside of production and R&D areas.
Responsibilities:
● The Facilities Supervisor, Production and Research Facilities is responsible for maintenance of office, production and research facilities including all electrical and mechanical systems.
● Troubleshoots and proactively maintains building systems, including HVAC, security, plumbing, roofing, electrical, clean room air handling systems and HEPA filters.
● Supervises, develops and evaluates Maintenance Workers to ensure the efficient operation.
● Coordinate and assign work assignments using Blue Mountain and through regular meetings with Manufacturing Managers, keeps track of progress and due dates while motivating direct reports to execute and produce high quality work and maintain high productivity.
● Advise Sr. Manager of Facilities, EHS & Security of any problems or issues that cannot be resolved immediately.
● Ensure Facilities team remains in compliance with all company policies, GMP’s and quality regulations and corporate procedures.
● Sets work schedules, and coordinates/tracks attendance, breaks, overtime, and vacation.
● Conducts regular performance reviews of direct reports and will assist employees in career development.
● Administers disciplinary action when appropriate.
● Ensures that safety of employees and security of premises are enforced.
● Some travel may be required.
● May perform other assignments as required by Management.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
● Good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Clean Room Procedures.
● Knowledge of all building trades including electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
● Strong working knowledge of Auto Cad.
● Good understanding of GMP production equipment such as dry heat ovens, coating and filling equipment, packaging and testing equipment.
● Strong production equipment troubleshooting skills.
● Working knowledge of Change Control Validated systems, IQ/OQ/PQ’S, and document change (CR/CO) process.
● Excellent background with machine tools such as mills, lathes and precision measuring equipment.
● Good production equipment design skills to assist Engineering with equipment upgrades.
● Ability to read and understand blueprints and building specifications.
● Ability to understand engineering language, symbols and formulas.
● Knowledge of building codes.
● Thorough knowledge of building safety procedures.
● Report writing ability.
● Ability to meet schedules and timeliness.
● Excellent planning and organizational skills.
● Ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and MS Project.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Previous customer service experience.
Education/Experience:
● Associates degree preferred on related field or any combination of education or on the job experience that would equal or exceed educational requirements.
● 10+ years experience in medical device R&D and Manufacturing facilities.
● 10+ years background in the building trades.
● Strong interpersonal skills required to work and relate to a very diverse and dynamic group of people with a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Equipment Operation:
● Ability to lift 40 pounds, prolonged standing/walking, crouching, climbing a ladder, and working long and varying hours.
