POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our location in Des Plaines, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Finance Supervisor, Global Supply Chain. This individual is a financial business partner to the Molecular Diagnostics, Global Supply Chain team as a part of the overall Operations, Quality and Supply Chain Finance Organization for Molecular Diagnostics.

This position is responsible for Financial Planning and Analysis for inventory management, Global purchasing of raw materials, Third Party Manufacturing financial management as well as standard costing activities and analysis.

The role requires strong analytical skills, a critical and innovative thinker as well as in depth knowledge of systems.

In addition, the individual executes various accounting functions which assist management in timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements and all financial planning cycles including annual PLAN, Quarterly LBE’s and long-range planning.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Main responsibilities include:

• Global purchasing and purchase price variance analysis
• Inventory planning and analysis including distressed inventory
• Standard costing for Third Party Manufactured goods
• Assist with valuation and implementation of Gross Margin Improvement Initiatives
• Month End close responsibilities including journal entries, and analysis of results vs forecast
• Develop comprehensive understanding of the various business drivers, processes and reporting requirements and lead improvement projects to support effective decision making and increase efficiency
• Assist management with special projects and ad-hoc analysis.

Education /Skills / Experience:

EXPERIENCE:

• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Strategic and innovative thinker that will challenge status quo and focus on cross-functional business partner relationships to help drive the business
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• 5 years of progressive financial experience
• Experience with financial management and accounting systems: SAP Preferred

REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree with concentration in accounting or finance.

PREFERRED:

• Advanced excel skills
• MBA or CPA desired
• Standard cost setting experience
• Supply Chain experience
• Knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
