The Opportunity

This position works out of our Menlo Park, CA location in the Structural Heart divison. Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.

As the Supplier Quality Project Lead, you’ll independently or lead a project team of engineers and/or technicians to provide Process/Quality/Supplier Engineering support to manufacturing, helping to ensure delivery of highest quality product to the customer. Lead Process/Quality/Supplier Engineering projects to facilitate support to product development teams, helping to ensure development of highest quality new products.

What You’ll Work On

  • Independently or lead a project team to identify, scope, plan and conduct medium-size assigned projects. Communicate project progress and escalate issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Direct the work of project team members, set goals and objectives, monitor progress on tasks. May have direct reports.
  • Understand Project Management tools and methodologies.  Understand engineering principles, theories, concepts, practices and techniques. Develop knowledge in a field to become a recognized leader or authority in an area of specialization and applies this knowledge in leadership roles in the company.
  • Identify and control Manufacturing process defects (scrap, nonconforming material, customer complaints) by participating in efforts/teams focused on identifying the primary root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions. May be responsible for querying and bounding data to support implementation of complex and documenting release criteria.
  • Develop product quality plans, documents and systems by creating product specifications, quality specifications and quality plans in conjunction with other product development team members. May be responsible for creating risk analyses and FMEAs.
  • Develop Process Monitoring Systems by identifying critical process steps applying methods to reduce process variation in order to reduce/eliminate the cause of defects.
  • Lead process improvement efforts by identifying methods to capture quality metric data and by performing appropriate analysis methods to enhance sustaining product design and new product development.
  • Assist in creation of Quality Tools and Training Materials by understanding the limitations of existing quality tools and training materials, and by helping to identify more effective tools and materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area, or Master's degree with 2 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Good organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups; ability to work cross-functionally; ability to prioritize.
  • Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Good understanding of business unit/group function and cross group dependencies/relationships.
  • Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations
